e-Science Core Programme

JISC

Two key project have been funded under phase 2 of the JISC VRE programme:

Virtual Research Environment for Archaeology (VERA). This is part of the Silchester Town Life excavation programme, and has become a well-known application of a VRE in the humanities. See also AHeSSC's briefing paper on VREs.

Study of Documents and Manuscripts, at the University of Oxford. This project collaborates closely with VERA, and is situated within Oxford's Building a Virtual Research Environment for the Humanities programme. The JISC funded Semantic Tools for Screen Arts Research Project (STARS), directed by Angela Piccini, follows on from the Performativity, Place, Space e-Science workshop.
