I am interested in the broad field use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education. A growing interest in the ways that ICT can be successfully implemented in schools led to my PhD research and eventually to my current research activities. My background in Classics is always guiding my choices.

Currently:

I am a research associate for the Arts and Humanities in e-Science Support Centre in King's College London. I am mainly involved in the e-Uptake Project (JISC funded), looking into the barriers and enablers for academics’ use of e-science in their research and teaching.

Before:

The focus of my PhD research (University of Warwick)(supervised by Dr. M. Hammond and Mr. A. Pritchard) was the investigation of an in-service ICT teacher training programme and the reasons why this training had little impact on teachers’ practice [Thesis title: An Investigation of an Information and Communications Technology In-service Teacher Training Programme in Greece: A Case Study].

At a later stage, working as a research assistant for the Transitions Project (Becta funded), I investigated the experiences of PGCE students and Newly Qualified teachers regarding their ICT training and ICT use. The aim of the project was to elaborate on the barriers which new teachers face while trying to use ICT in their schools

At the early stages of my research I focussed on the area of Special Educational Needs and specifically the behaviour of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
